Elaine was such a wonderful support to my husband and I prior to, during, and after the birth of our son. As first time parents we had a lot of questions during our meetings before giving birth. Elaine helped ease our minds and normalize our fears. She provided great education and activities to help support the development of our birth preferences. She was always available when I texted her with contraction updates and was so helpful with suggestions to ensure it was the real thing and eventually in knowing when we should head to the hospital. During our 31 hours of labor, she was a HUGE help to us! As soon as she arrived in our delivery room, the emotional tone completely changed and I felt much more at peace with her labor position suggestions and encouragement. She was very supportive in helping to explain things along with the medical team and additionally once they left the room as well. The medical team was so impressed with her that my physician even asked for her contact information to be able to refer patients interested in doula support to her! After delivery she stayed with me while dad went to the nursery with baby, she was so excited with us and it felt like she was family. She made sure we were settled in our room before leaving and followed up with us just a couple days later to check in and come over. It was so nice also having her support for breastfeeding and I utilized both her recommendations for a lactation consultant and newborn photographer which were both excellent. We were so touched by the detailed log she kept of our son’s delivery and her incredibly sweet letter to him as well. Elaine will forever have a very special place in our hearts. We absolutely recommend her to anyone hoping for loving support from a genuinely compassionate and heartfelt doula.
